El Nino 2015 Is Coming - Is The Food Supply In Danger?

El Nino is coming. The massive intense weather front is expected to last nine months. Although weather forecasters reportedly “played down” the system earlier this year, federal climate experts issued a warning about El Nino 2015 on Friday.

There is a 90 percent chance that El Nino 2015 weather trends will continue through the winter months, according to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center. El Nino events typically warm the Earth’s atmosphere due to a suppression of the “upwelling” of cold water in the ocean which can absorb excess heat. While the significant rainfall expected could help cure drought woes in California, the agriculture industry and our food supply could falter due to flooding and high winds.
