Rose Hips Herbal Remedies - They Contain More Vitamin C Than Oranges!

Rose hips can grow just about anywhere and boast a plethora of medicinal benefits. The rose hip, also referred to as rose haw or rose hep, is the fruit of a rose. The plant, which grows up to 10 feet tall, was showcased on an episode of Alaska: The Last Frontier. The Kilcher clan harvested wild rose hips growing on their expansive homestead in Alaska to use them in jellies, sauces, mash, and natural home remedies.
The most frequently harvested rose hips come from the wild dog rose plant, according to Herb Wisdom. Once the fragrant white flower has bloomed and its petals have fallen off, it is time to harvest the rose hip. They are known to be an excellent source of vitamin C and contain 50 percent more of the essential vitamin than oranges. Because of the high amount of vitamin C found in rose hips, they are often considered an immune system booster in herbal remedies.

Doomsday Vault Gets Massive Deposit of 50,000 'Dry Land' Seeds, Is A Food Crisis Looming?

The “doomsday vault” that is supposed to contain enough seeds to sustain humanity in case of a global disaster just received a 50,000-seed deposit. The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is located in a remote region of Norway about 620 miles from the North Pole. The gene bank has only been opened once before.
The 50,000 seed deposit also included a return of reconstituted seeds removed from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in October of 2015. About 15,000 of the seeds were reconstituted previously withdrawn samples from the International Center for Agricultural Research, MSN reports. The seeds deposited represent some of the crops most essential for the survival of the human race.
